Due to the Coronavirus the work of the
Health Champions has been
temporarily suspended.
SHROPSHIRE YOUNG HEALTH CHAMPIONS
Any young person between 11 and 25 years old in Shropshire can become a
Young Health Champion!
You meet new people and have fun; develop skills and learn new ones.
You can use hours towards your D of E and receive a certificate
that can go in your CV.
But better than that….you help make a positive change
towards good health!
There are two days of training. It’s good fun. We explore what health means to individuals and what affects health, in a good or bad way.
We then look at how we can improve health for ourselves, and others.
This is where young people develop their ideas into really exciting projects and there have been many!
Some Young Health Champions have visited and given feedback on services, taken part in NHS health events
and even sat on interview panels for health professionals!
Projects can be as long or short as you have time for
and you get to choose what you get involved with; there are opportunities to join groups that interest you, or you can design and
deliver your own project.
You have the full support of youth workers to help you create a project
to be proud of!
