Bringing a business focus and CSR experience to the charity
Having fulfilled many roles throughout my career including delivering BT's Corporate Social responsibility function, I have been trustee for several charities and a none executive director for a hospital trust and University. It is my ambition to make SYA a charity with outstanding performance.
Aleesha Skett
Trustee - HR Lead
I joined the charity as a trustee at the beginning of 2022. As a Shropshire born HR practitioner with a legal education and young family, I believe the work they do is imperative for the local youth. I have volunteering experience providing legal advice to those unable to afford legal fees, and now use my HR knowledge to deliver educational workshops to school children.

Logistics are my bag
I have a history in logistics and supply chain work, I currently run a business and offer support to schools. SYA recruited me as they were aware that some of their administrative tools and practises were out of date, I'm working with the team to move to a more streamlined and efficient, process driven office, where the correct data, insight and information is collected, collated and disseminated at the right time.

Quality Education
As a secondary school teacher I joined the trustees to support the development and delivery of alternative curriculum packages to young people and will help to ensure that SYA continues to deliver high quality interventions to young people, throughout their portfolio of projects, clubs, delivery and training.
Dr Alan Herbett
Trustee
A wealth of experience
As a Dr of mathematics with industry, education and consultancy experience, I join the Scouts to run an Explorer Scout section. My passion for supporting, challenging and motivating young people grew from this. I have strong environmental views and will seek to ensure that SYA works towards carbon Neutral status in the future. My passion for encouraging young people to engage in STEM subjects is also helping SYA to develop quality informal education opportunities for the young people they support.
